Hello I have been wanting to learn aerial silks for a while but the closest place I know of that teaches classes is Oakland or San Francisco, I was wondering if anyone in Sacramento area or davis teaches classes?
Also i've been contemplating getting aerial silks and just trying on my own. I was wondering what all would I need to be able to do this? Any safety tips?
I'm very interested and would appreciate any advise or info, thanks!

Re: People in Sacramento?...Also a few questions about aerial silks
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 7:13 PMYou would need a good mat under your fabric. And always stay within a step away from the ground, too.
In fact, it's not such a good idea to learn on your own. A teacher is needed to spot you and help you when you get stuck, not just to teach you the moves. So if you do try it on your own, stay close to the ground. It would be very hard to attempt even basic moves on your own. There is so much an experienced person can tell you about each and every move that you won't get just by watching a video of the move.
